Obituary

Jerome J. Pickart, age 91, died October 17, 2022.

He was born November 16, 1930, the son of Anthony & Viola (Blanck) Pickart in Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin.

Jerry served in the Army as a PFC (Private First Class) from October 1951-October 1953.

He married the love of his life, Dolores Catherine Enders, November 13, 1954, in Mount Calvary, Wisconsin. Dolores was the daughter of Sylvester and Marcella Enders; he lost her way to soon to cancer in January of 1990. He then met a special friend, Kathleen Weber, and lost her to cancer after 25 years together.

Jerry was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Land parish-Holy Cross Church, Legion Post 454 in Mount Calvary, and the Chapter 11 of Fond du Lac.

He worked on many farming jobs as a child; he also worked at Soo Line Rail and Concorde Cheese. He retired from Wells Manufacturing after 36 years in 1992. After retirement, he farmed for Tony Morgan for 22 years.

He loved being active in fishing, making wood, farming, camping with the family, traveling, and going out to eat with his daughters. He really enjoyed family time and family reunions to see all his nieces and nephews. He always made sure to talk to each and every one of them. He was truly loved by the grandchildren and the great grandchildren for chasing them around to which they gave him the loving nickname, "The Tickle Grandpa".

Survivors include his loving nine daughters, Kathleen Meyer, Sandra Pickart, Sharon (Steve) Kraus, Diane (Gary) Sippel, Geri Burns, Christine (Ronald) White, all of Mount Calvary, Cindy (Kirk) Neese of Fond du Lac, Patricia (Paul) Schmitz of St. Peter, and Mary (Dennis) Schill of DePere; 26 grandchildren, Jason (Jolene) Meyer, Amy (Tim) Pickart, Travis Meyer, Ilene Meyer, Amber (Keegan) Garmen, Jenni Meyer, Nicole Schneider, Sara Schneider, Chad (Tammy) Schneider, Tami (Clint) Patton, Heidi (Dan) Skrenes, Heather (Mike) Handel, Jennifer Thurwachter, Jessica Sippel, Jacob Burns, Jamie Burns, Erick Burns, Aiden Burns, Nikita Pickart, Katrina (Victor) Klapperich, Joseph Pickart, Hailey Pickart, Timothy (Jenny) Schmitz, Angela (David) Wison, Robert (Chrissy) Beltazore, Mac Schill, and Abigail Schill; forty great grandchildren; in-laws, Joyce Schmidt, Verna Fahrbach, Bonnie Enders, and Gary (Kim) Enders. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Anthony and Viola; his wife, Dolores; brothers, Joseph Pickart, Laverne (Beatrice) Pickart, and Clifford (Elsie) Pickart; sisters, Joan (Donald) Blaylock, Florence (Emil) Warner, and Evelyn (Norbert) Schneider; his son in law, David Burns; in-laws, Ron Schmidt, Elaine(Robert) Johnson, Larry Enders, and Jim Fahrbach; friend , Kathleen Weber.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Church, 308 County Road W, Mount Calvary, WI 53057. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Dolores, in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Military rites will be held in church following Mass.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Jerry's family at church from 2:30-4:30 PM, on Friday, October 21, 2022.
