JoAnn M. Sheahan, age 77, of Brillion, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday February 20, 2018.

She was born on November 3, 1940 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Popp) Sleger. JoAnn was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School class of 1959. She married Richard Sheahan on August 19, 1961 in Manitowoc. She worked in banking for over 20 years and was the area coordinator for the Calumet County Meals on Wheels program for several years. JoAnn was very active in Wisconsin Right to Life and also served as a Girl Scout Leader for 20 years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion where she volunteered in the church office and she and Richard were communion distributors to the homebound. JoAnn was also very proud of being a 50 year member of the Christian Mothers.

Survivors include her husband Richard, her daughters, Colleen “Cully” Sheahan of Menasha, Maureen (Jon) Kruse of Jackson, 2 grandchildren, Eden and Grant Kruse, who were her pride and joy, a sister Linda (Mike) Schermetzler of Reifs Mills, 2 brothers, Roger (Sarah) Sleger of Eagle, Idaho and Wayne (Jean) Sleger of Manitowoc along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Ruth Engleman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Timothy Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will take place at the church on Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and then again on Monday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.

A memorial fund has been established in JoAnn’s name.
