Joanne H. Bubolz, age 77, of Reedsville, died on Wed. July 27, 2011 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 3, 1934 in St. Nazianz, daughter of the late Herbert & Lydia (Matznick) Hammel. She married Donald R. Bubolz on June 12, 1954 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Collins. Joanne attended George Washington Public School in St. Nazianz and graduated from Kiel High School, class of 1951. She worked at St. Nazianz Publishing and farmed with her husband in the Township of Maple Grove. She was a member of St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville, she volunteered in the Library at the school and worked on the finance committee at church. Survivors include her children, Nancy (William) Hillmann of Reedsville, Randel (Julie) Bubolz of Reedsville, Donna Stratton of Midland, TX, Daniel (Rosemary) Bubolz of Reedsville, Joan (Timothy) Sheahan of Reedsville, Robert (Kristy) Bubolz of Manitowoc, 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, Melissa (Eric) Toshner of Appleton and their sons Will and Ethan, Lisa (Michael) Lowe of Riverview, FL and their daughter Olivia, Sarah (Steve) Miller of Reedsville, Matthew Hillmann of Reedsville, Michael Bubolz and fianc Abbey Ring of Manitowoc, Bradley Bubolz of Reedsville, Jennifer (John) Wilder of Midland, TX and their children Courtney, Kendra and Dax, Jessica (Luke) Raymond of Gardendale, TX, Jo Ann (Andrew) Artrip of Midland, TX, Kimberly Desjardins of Midland, TX, Rachel, Jacob, and Elizabeth Bubolz of Reedsville, Kayla and Brittany Sheahan of Reedsville, Talon and Koen Bubolz of Manitowoc, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Doris and Henry Behnke, Val Jean Link , and Raymond and Suzanne Bubolz all of Reedsville, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Don on April 13, 2008, her parents, a brother-in-law Peter Link, and a niece Brenda Vanden Avond. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sat. July 30 at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. The Rev. Timothy Nommensen will officiate. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sat. from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Wieting Funeral Home in Reedsville is assisting the family with arrangements.
