John R. Enders of St. Cloud died on Wednesday March 31, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born in the Town of Marshfield, the son of John and Catherine Wagner Enders on July 13, 1926. He attended St. Cloud Catholic Grade School. John was a graduate of the Industrial Training Institute of Chicago School of Electronics.
John served in the US Army in the South Pacific in World War II from 1944 to 1946.
On August 20, 1947 he married Corinne Steffes at St. Joseph's Church in St. Joe.
He was employed at Kohler Co. for eight years and at Brenner Tank Inc. in Fond du Lac as an Electric Maintenance Supervisor. He retired in 1991 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Brenner Tank.
John was a member of St. Cloud Catholic Church, a 50 year member of the American Legion Harvey Blonigen Post 478, where he served on the firing squad for many years and was a member of the Riverside Hunting & Fishing Club where he was instrumental in teaching hunter safety classes.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and snowmobiling. One of his greatest joys in life was his family.
Survivors include his wife, Corinne; three sons, Stephen (Patricia) of St. Cloud, Robert (Kari) of Stevens Point and John of Hazelhurst; two daughter, Lynn (Phil) Conrad of Fond du Lac and Mary Enders-Muraski of Oshkosh; his sister, Kathryn Nehs; eleven grandchildren, Kurt (Jamie) Enders, Jason (Lori) Enders, Keith Enders, Justin Enders (Jill Seffern), Kenneth Enders, Brian (Brenda) Enders, Terah Enders, Devin Conrad, Corinne (Shawn) Anderson, Sarah Enders-Muraski and Ryan Enders; five great-grandchildren, Blake Enders, Lindsey Enders, Alex Enders, Jack Enders and Leah Anderson.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John & Catherine Enders; a son-in-law, Keith Muraski; five brothers, Alfred (Exhilda), Louis (Ohelia), Syvester (Marcella), Henry (Jerelyn) and Raymond; five sisters, Viola (Clarence) Pfeifer, Martha (John) Gasper, Rose (Edwin) Mihm, Gladys (Ervin) Freund and Emma Enders.
At John's request, there will be no visitation. A private family gathering with burial will be held in the St. Cloud parish cemetery.
