John Porter

John W. Porter, age 59 of Reedsville, died peacefully early Saturday morning March 12, 2016, after spending the last two months at Rivers Bend in Manitowoc. He was born on May 17, 1956 in Manitowoc, son of Anna Mae Voeltz and the late William A. Porter. John attended Lincoln High School in Manitowoc and continued his education at the Vocational School of Drafting. He worked at the Ariens Company in Brillion for over 30 years. John enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a lifetime member of the Rockea Hunting Club. He also was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Survivors include his wife Rosanne, a son Nicholas Porter of Valders and special friend Marissa, his mother and step dad, Anna Mae (David “Duffy”) Voeltz of Lake Tomahawk, a brother George Porter of Wausaukee, His mother-in-law Janet Miller of Reedsville, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barb Miller of Appleton, Laurie (Glen) Wagner of Reedsville, Susan Miller of Reedsville, Paul (Chris) Miller of Brillion, Mary Miller of Menominee along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his father William Porter, an infant sister Patricia Porter, father-in-law Arnold Miller and brother-in-law Michael Miller. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday March 16, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Timothy Brandt will officiate.
