John I. Thomes, age 66, of Chilton, passed away with his loving family at his side on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton. He was born December 12, 1951, in Port Washington to Archie & Helen Thomes. On March 20, 1981, John married Barb Rohlfs in Sheboygan. John loved farming along-side with his wife, Barb. In addition he drove semi for T.T.I. Trucking Company of Eden, WI. John is survived by his wife, Barb; his children, Jeb Thomes of Chilton, Tara Thomes of Malone, and step-son, Dick "RJ" Abhold of Plymouth; 11 grandchildren; his mother, Helen; two brothers; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Tonie Marie Walber. Private family services will be held at a later date. Please forward cards, flowers, etc to the family's home. Barb wishes to thank John's pulmonary lung doctor, Dr. Daniel Leonard, DO and Dr. Williams DO, all the staff in the ER, 3rd floor, and 2nd floor ICU at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton for their care for John; also to Jenny and Kim from TMG/Wisconsin Iris/I-Life for their help and support these past four years after John's semi accident. Your help did not go unnoticed and special thank you to Ron and Lori Touketto and family. You will always be in our hearts. John selflessly donated to the American Tissue Services Foundation so that others may benefit from him.
