Joseph A. Karls
In to the arms of our loving Lord, on May 5, 2010, Joseph A. Karls, 73, of Malone went to his heavenly father while his family was at his side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 19, 1936 to the late Edward and Veronica Muellenbach Karls. On August 19, 1967 he married Audrey Steiner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown. He retired from Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey of Johnsburg; his daughter, Jean (Ron) Kraus and their son, Logan of Oshkosh; his son, Glen Karls and his special friend, Libby Kraft of North Fond du Lac; six brothers and sisters, Bernard (Delores) Karls of Green Bay, Roman (LaVerne) Karls of Green Bay, Erv (Sandy) Karls of St. Peter, Ruth (Gerald) Koenig of Plymouth, Joan (Ron) Sabel of Marytown and George Karls and his special friend, Carol Randl of New Holstein: three sisters-in-law, Joyce (Roger) Schoenborn of Marytown, Lori (Jim) Heus of Marytown and Shirl (Randy) Moioffer of Fond du Lac and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Robert Karls; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Romilda and Elroy Steiner and two brothers-in-law, Allen and John Steiner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday May 8, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. Rev. Joseph Coerber will officiate. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Rest Chapel Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue in New Holstein, on Friday May 7th from 4-8 PM and again at the funeral home Saturday morning from 8:00 to 9:15 when brief family rites will be held at the funeral home.
A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Friday evening at 8:00 PM.
Joe's family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Central Wisconsin CancerProgram Center in Fond du Lac, the Agnesian Hospice of Hope and to Fr. Joseph Coerber for his many home visits during Joe's illness.
