Joseph A. Krebsbach died Friday, January 6, 2023, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility. He was 98 years old, born June 19, 1924 in St. Cloud, WI to Thomas and Margaret (Schneider) Krebsbach. He graduated from St. Claudius Grade School, as salutatorian from New Holstein High School, and Fond du Lac Business College.

Joe spent his high school summers helping his grandfather on the farm in rural Johnsburg. He was drafted into the Army after high school. He had been a member of the American Legion Post #478 in St. Cloud for 75 years. After service to his country, he worked as the accountant for Haber Printing in Fond du Lac until the owner retired and he and three partners bought the business in 1980. He worked there until his retirement in 1997.

Music was Joe's greatest pleasure. He sang in the church choir until his health changed. He also played piano and harmonica, both self-taught and led the family in many song fests at family gatherings and when they met on Sundays for dinner. All his life he was an avid golfer and bowler in several leagues. He also enjoyed reading, aways having a book or newspaper at his side.

Joe played baseball with home teams and football in high school. He coached youth baseball, was a Boy Scout leader and a mentor to many young people in his home town of St. Cloud. He always attended the Milwaukee Braves season opening games in Milwaukee and listened to their games and the Chicago Cubs games all season even if it meant having radios on in different rooms at home. He was a loyal Packer fan, but also watched other teams compete.

Joe is survived by his brother Donald in Green Bay, sisters Verna Abler/Eggebeen, Eloise (Bill) Barbieur and Vivian Miller in Plymouth. He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Ann (Kubish) and brother Thomas, Jr., brothers-in-law Joe Kubish, Gordon Abler, Roland Eggebeen, Alfred Miller, sisters-in-law Juanita (Thomas) Krebsbach and Lucile (Donald) Krebsbach, nephews, Steve Kubish, Rick Abler, and Mark Krebsbach and niece Nanette Krebsbach.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Cloud Church, 924 Main Street St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Larry Abler, OFM Cap, a very good friend of Joe, will officiate. Military Rites conducted by the Harvey Bloingen St. Cloud American Legion Post 478 and State Military Honors will be held following the Mass.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Joe's family at the church in St. Cloud on Saturday, January 14th from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM.

A Memorial Fund will be established in his name.
