Joseph A. Simon, age 84, of Mt. Calvary passed away on Wednesday April 17, 2024, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

He was born July 30, 1939, in Malone to the late Arnold & Loretta (Feldner) Simon. He graduated from St. Mary Springs High School.

On Oct 14, 1961, he married Patricia Rahmer.

He worked for over 40 years at Dairy Farmers of America (formerly Borden's Cheese Factory) in Plymouth and continued helping his parents on the family farm.

Joe was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Site in Mt. Calvary.

Joe had a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening; qualities he instilled in his children. He enjoyed bowling in many leagues in Mt. Calvary. Joe and Patricia looked forward to the many get-a-ways at their cabin in the northwoods and trying their luck at the casinos. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially Brewer and Packer games. He enjoyed the spring when he could start gardening and maintained his large garden even during his retirement years.

Survivors include his wife Patricia; his children, Anthony (Alice) Simon of Valders (St. Nazianz), Barbara (Timothy) Lefeber of St. Cloud, Karen Simon of rural St. Cloud (Dundee) and Jeffrey (Bonnie) Simon of Fond du Lac; 12 grandchildren, Mike (Megan) Simon, Melissa Ashenbrenner, Megan (Zack) Schneider, Holly (Ben) Isaacs, and Anton (Bailey) Simon, Samantha (Richard) Meyer, Kristopher (Morgan) Lefeber, Hailey and Jaiden Lefeber, Alexander, Aaron and Luke Walber, and 17 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Mary (Douglas) Viegut of Kaukauna, brothers-in-law James Knaus of Weyauwega, Joseph Rahmer of St. Cloud, James Rahmer of Florida, sisters-in law Doris Kapellen of Sheboygan Falls, Rita Lackas of Theresa, Carol (Richard) Laudolff of Florida, and Margie Bera of Fond du Lac.

Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Arland Simon; sisters Remegia Simon and Dolores Knaus; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Donald (Virginia) Rahmer, Jean (Norm) Resop, George (Elsie) Rahmer, Rosie (Ottie) Schneider, John Rahmer, Joseph Kapellen, Gene Lackas and Jack Bera.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Site, 308 South County W, Mt. Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap & Rev. Oliver Bambenek, OFM Cap concelebrating. A private interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Mt. Calvary, WI.

Visitation: Family and friends may call at the Church in Mt. Calvary on Thursday, April 25th, from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM.

The family extends their sincere appreciation for the care Joe received from the SSM nurses on 5 West and a special thank you to Sister Jenada Fanetti for the kindness and compassion she showed to Joe and the family during his final weeks.
