Judy Kay Mastey, age 69, of Hilbert, formerly of Brillion, passed away on November 10, 2015 at Theda Clark Medical Center from complications that arose after her heart surgery on September 9 2015. She was surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born on July 7, 1946 in Hortonville. She is the daughter of the late Victor and Violeta (Philippe) Behrend. Judy was a graduate of Hortonville High School, class of 1964. On June 6, 1969, she married Vernon Mastey. Judy was an amazing beautician all of her life. When the couple lived in Westby, she owned the "Kut - n - Koral" hair salon. Judy and Vern moved to Brillion in 1989 where she then worked at various hair salons and nursing homes. Judy was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Judy enjoyed reading, shopping, and going to "the camp" in Michigan. She especially enjoyed all the time that she could spend with her family and grandchildren, including going to and watching their sporting events. Vern will always cherish the many times they would enjoy breakfast together at local restaurants. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Vern of Hilbert; their children: Shelly (Dave) Martin of Wilton, WI, Matt (Tammy) Mastey of Brillion WI, and Melissa (Matt) Anderson of Marquette, MI. Grandchildren: Luke, Blake, and Alek Martin of Wilton, WI, Gracie and Mya Mastey of Brillion, WI, step-grandchild Cassie Benisch of Edgerton, WI, Matthew and Mara Anderson of Marquette, MI; one sister: Margene (Paul) VanderHeyden of Menasha, other in-laws: James (Shirley) Mastey, Daniel (Marge) Mastey, Gerald (Sophie) Mastey, Marilyn (John) Fuhrman, Sharon Davis, Steven (Lynn) Mastey, John Mastey, Patricia Murphy, Barbara Watson, Betty Mastey, and Stanley Mastey; nieces and nephews , other relatives, many friends, and her dog Rozie. She was preceded in death by her parents: Victor and Violeta (Philippe) Behrend,father-in -law and mother-in-law Florian and Agnes (Jankowski) Mastey, in-laws: Kenneth Mastey, Chester (Karla) Mastey, Jim Davis, Dwayne Murphy and Jim Watson. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating at the mass will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:30. A special thanks to the wonderful ICU nursing staff at Theda Clark Medical Center and also to the cardiology staff at Appleton Medical Center.
