Karen L. (Bailey) Lackershire, age 85, of New Holstein passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

She was born September 17, 1940, in Antigo, Wisconsin to Lloyd & Ferne (Lawrence) Bailey. Karen graduated from Sevastopal High School in Institute, Wisconsin in 1958.

On February 8, 1958, she married DeLoy Lackershire in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

Karen was employed at the former Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein until her retirement at age 62.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein. She enjoyed participating with the "Strong Women's" group, volunteering at the Shepherd's Attic, and helping out her friend, Vern Gonzo, in his later years.

Karen loved her $5 McChicken meal at McDonald's, reading her Chicken Soup for the Soul books, playing games on her laptop, and watching Walker Texas Ranger & In the Heat of the Night. She spent hours upon hours tending to her flowers and looked forward to camping trips.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her three children, Allen (Sheila) Lackershire, Debra (John "Butch") Cuggino, and Randy (Lori) Lackershire; seven grandchildren;14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Sharen Osborne; her sisters-in-law, Ginny Bailey, Lois Lackershire, and Betty Wielgus; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband, DeLoy; her parents, Lloyd & Ferne Bailey; a grandson; a granddaughter; her two brothers, Carroll (Lorna) Bailey & Terry Bailey; and her brothers-in-law, Larry Lackershire, Edgar Lackershire, and Richard Lackershire; and a sister-in-law, Hazel Miller.

Karen's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Altona Supper Club, 2306 Calumet Drive, New Holstein, WI 53061 on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.  A service will be held at 11:30 AM with a luncheon following the service.  In Karen's memory, please wear red or Packer attire.
