Katherine Grace Kapellen, age 23, of New Holstein, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Ascension Calumet Hospital in Chilton.

She was born March 29, 1999, in Sheboygan to Paul & Susan (Schultz) Kapellen. Katherine attended New Holstein Public Schools graduating in 2017.

Katherine enjoyed arts & crafts, reading, and surfing the internet. She was a member at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and belonged with the New Holstein Girls Scouts for several years.

Survivors include her parents, Paul & Susan Kapellen; her sister, Elizabeth Kapellen; her brother, Matthew Kapellen; her maternal grandmother, Judy Schultz; her paternal grandmother, Stella Kapellen; her two uncles, Jim (Pat) Schultz and Tom (Jamie) Kapellen; her cousins, Steven (Stephanie) Schultz, Sarah (Dominic) Bouressa, and Tyler (Heidi) Schultz. Katherine is further survived by her godfather, Paul Freund; a great-uncle, great-aunts, other relatives, and friends.

Katherine was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gerald Schultz; her paternal grandfather, Roger Kapellen; an uncle, Mark Kapellen; and her godmother, Cheri Steffen.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Carl Diederichs will officiate. Katherine will be laid to rest in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in New Holstein.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Katherine's family at the Sippel Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 17th from 3:00 PM until 6:15 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Katherine's family for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
