Kay L. Klinzing, age 73, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
The former Kay Schroepfer was born March 18, 1943, in Antigo, Wisconsin to Eugene and Lorraine Schroepfer.
She earned her Bachelor's Degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin, where she also met the love of her life, Edwin Benedict Klinzing, from St. Cloud, Wisconsin. They were married at the Parish of the Holy Heart of Jesus in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on December 21, 1968. Edwin preceded her in death on November 24, 1974.
Kay worked at the American Embassy in Brazil and also as a social worker for many years at the Hernando County Health Department in Florida. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially watching them play sports. She was of Christian Faith and lived her life with an unselfish heart caring for others.
Survivors include her daughter, Kari Lorraine (Jimmy) Kimbrough of Brooksville, Florida; her son, Brian Edwin (Mimi) Klinzing of Frederick, Maryland; three grandchildren, Pierce Kimbrough of Gainesville, Florida, Karli Kimbrough and Hayden Kimbrough of Brooksville.
Fr. Ron Smith OFM Cap. from the St. Lawrence Seminary officiated over the private graveside burial at the St. Cloud Catholic Cemetery, St. Cloud, Wisconsin where she was buried next to her husband, Edwin Benedict Klinzing.
