La Verna Emilie Elizabeth Heilgendorf, age 91 of 204 Riverdale Dr., Potter, died peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at her home. She was born on October 9, 1922 in the town of Rantoul, daughter of the late Hugo & Elsa (Zahn) Hintz. She worked at Aluminum Specialty in Chilton from 1950 to 1956 and then at Fox River Paper Corporation in Appleton until her retirement in 1978. On December 17, 1977 La Verna married Elmer W. Heilgendorf at Peace Church in Potter. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1999. La Verna loved canning, cooking and gardening. She was a member of Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church in Potter. Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Dennis (Debra) Hintz and their family, Michael (Melissa) Hintz - Lakyn, Lyla and Kashtyn, Marilyn (David) Kaminski - Noah, Amiya, Deonna and Micah, Meghan Hintz, Diane (Dennis) Duchow and their family Jason Duchow, Jessica (Josh) Gieschen - Chloe, Justin Duchow, Linda (Kim) Broyles and their family, Joey Broyles and partner Danny Atwater, Brigette (Greg) Singletary- Emery, Brent Haley, Evan Broyles and Jacqueline Broyles, David (Kim) Hintz and their family Christa (Matt) Giese, Katie (Matt) Riege, Jeremy Hintz and Trevor Hintz, Mark (Julie) Hintz and their family Matthew (Miranda) Hintz, Zachary Hintz, Kenneth (Sherry) Hintz and their family Alicia (Bryan) Fleischmann and Marissa Hintz, Cheryl (Keith) Reinke. A step daughter Barbara (Marvin) Lesch, a step son Carl (Ellen) Heilgendorf, 4 grandchildren, Samantha (Jason) Sutherland, Leo (Melissa) Lesch, Matthew (Kim) Lesch, Megan (David) Hiller, 7 great grandchildren, Brooke, Aylea,Izak Sutherland, Leo Lesch II, Connor, Jordy, Kennedy Hiller, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Esther Maechtle, Hilda Heilgendorf, Edna (Wilmer) Quass and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law Elwood (Alice) Hintz, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Eleanor (Albert) Kannenberg, Walter (Dorothy) Hilgendorf, Martin (Louise) Hilgendorf, Dorothy (Arnold) Kessel, Raymond (Ruth) Heilgendorf, Ralph Maechtle Hilbert Heilgendorf and Elmer (Arlene) Sudbrink. Funeral service will be held on Thursday August 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church in Potter. The Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod will officiate. Burial will be in the Brillion Community Cemetery.
