Laverne "Vern" H. Casper, age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Willowpark Place in New Holstein. He was born on August 20, 1938 on the Casper family farm in Marytown; son of the late Felix and Martina (Meyer) Casper. After graduating from New Holstein High School in 1956; he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for three years as an aviation electrician. Vern worked for Household Utilities and Altmeyer Electric as a member of IBEW Local 494. Vern married Janice (Mueller) on August 22, 1964 at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Charlestown. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Parish. Vern enjoyed baseball, basketball, bowling and, golfing. Survivors include his wife, two children, Dan (Renee) and Kay; six grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Emily, Adam, Samuel, and Philip; his brothers and sisters, Eileen Birschbach, Rose (Jerry) Criter, Pat (Fred) Stephany, Janet (Gary) Griffiths, Elmer (Susan) Casper, and John Casper. He is further survived by his in-laws, Ellen (Jeff) Nitsch and Lyle (Debbie) Mueller. Private family funeral services will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
