LaVerne E. Lefeber, 91, of rural St. Cloud (Town of Russell), passed away peacefully, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, with her loving family at her side on Thursday, February 9, 2017.
The former LaVerne E. Birschbach was born November 18, 1925, in St. Peter, to Phillip & Adeline (Buechel) Birschbach. She attended grade school in St. Peter.
On May 8, 1945, she married Walter J. Lefeber at St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Peter.
LaVerne and Walter made their home in the St. Joe area farming in the Town of Russell their entire married lives. Walter preceded LaVerne in death on November 11, 2006.
She was a member of St. Isidore Parish-St. Joseph Church and the Christian Women's Society. LaVerne loved flowers, birds, butterflies, and her cats. She was very intrigued with genealogy which entailed cutting out many obituaries in the newspapers for her research. LaVerne loved the outdoors and being with her family.
LaVerne is survived by 10 children and 36 grandchildren, her son, Jerome (Donna) Lefeber of Charlesburg, and their children, Brian (Dorota) Lefeber, Jacqueline (Lionel) Ravis, and Scott (Sara) Lefeber; her son, Ronald Lefeber of St. Cloud; her daughter, Mary (Steve) Olig of Campbellsport, and their children, Sherry (Jason) Obando, Troy (Kate) Mueller, and Sean Olig; her son, Matthew (Barb) Lefeber of St. Cloud, and their children, Randall (Becky) Lefeber, Kristine Lefeber and friend Hassan Nkulabl, Lisa Dehn, Matthew (Julie) Lefeber, Greg Lefeber, Angie (Antonio) Rios; her daughter, Elizabeth (Richard) Schnell of Charlesburg, and their children, Tammy (Joe) VanHaren, Sandy (Brad) Deml, Stacy (Bob) Borgens, Dan (Angie) Franzen, and Jonathan (Jenna) Franzen; her daughter, Patricia (Robert) Loose of Chilton, and their children, Deb (Neil) Vogel, Amy (Mike) Wahl, Becky Loose, and Jesse (Hayleigh) Loose; her daughter, Alice (Jerry) Lisowe of Marytown, and their children, Jeff (Anne) Lisowe, Al (Jen) Lisowe, Mark (Lori) Lisowe, Andy (Lanae) Lisowe, Nick (Tracy) Lisowe, Lori (Mitch) Salchert, and Ben (Karissa) Lisowe; her son, Phillip (Sue) Lefeber of Malone, and their children, Pamela (Alex) Parr and Sarah Lefeber; her son, Thomas (Linda) Lefeber of Howards Grove, and their children, Eric (Ashley) Lefeber and Rachael (David) Zigterman; and her son, Timothy (Barb) Lefeber of St. Cloud, and their children, Samantha (Richard) Meyer, Kristopher Lefeber, Hailey Lefeber, and Jaiden Lefeber; 50 great-grandchildren with two more on the way; 3 step grandchildren; many step great-grandchildren; her sister, Lucille Dreifuerst of Fond du Lac; many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip & Adeline Birschbach; her husband, Walter; a son-in-law, Gerald Mueller; a great-grandchild; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Dreifuerst and Eugene (Virginia) Lefeber two sisters-in-law, Martha (Ben) Frank and Stella (Oscar) Thome; a niece, Shirley Diedrich; a nephew, Marvin Thome, and a goddaughter, Diane Moschel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 13, 2017, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Joseph Church in St. Joe (W620 County Road G, St. Cloud, WI 53079). Rev. Gary Wegner, OFM Cap will officiate. Entombment will take place at Ledgeview Memorial Park Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.
Visitation: Family and friends may greet the family at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street, St. Cloud, on Sunday, February 12th from 1:00 PM until 4:30 PM. Visitation will also be at the church Monday morning, from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Sunday afternoon at 4:30 PM.
