Lawrence "Larry" F. Mueller, age 62, of New Holstein passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, December 27, 2013.
He was born March 5, 1951, a son of the late Norbert & Elsie (Heimermann) Mueller.
Larry attended St. Martin's Grade School and graduated from Chilton High School. He also attended Fox Valley Technical College where he received a degree in environmental chemistry.
On November 21, 1970, he married Deb Meyer at St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg.
After graduating from Fox Valley Technical College, Larry worked at Duluth, MN for the EPA. Three years later, he and his family moved back to the area where he joined his family operating the family farm. He had also worked at Milk Specialties in New Holstein, Moor Mans Feed, Fleet Farm in Plymouth, and at Miller Implement in St. Nazianz.
Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors, driving his four wheeler, golfing, taking trips throughout the US, tending to his black labs, but most of all, spending time with his family. He was an avid wine maker and made maple syrup.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, a former member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Charlestown, a member of the Catholic Financial Life, the Heritage Park in Charlestown, and the Outdoors Inc. in New Holstein.
Survivors include his wife, Deb; his children, Laurie (Kevin) Plate of Hilbert, Tim (Kim) Mueller of New Holstein, Keith (Kristi) Mueller of New Holstein, and Nicole (Jacob) Balthazor of North Fond du Lac; his grandchildren, Alex Miller, Brent, Hayley, and Madison Plate, Mikayla and Peyton Mueller, MacKenzie, Trevor, and Morgan Mueller, and Kenadie Balthazor; his great-grandchild, Adrianna Miller; his brother, Wayne (Deb) Mueller of Chilton; his sister, Diane Mueller of Crivitz; his mother-in-law and step father-in-law, Janet Meyer-Steinmetz and her husband, Nick Steinmetz; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dennis (Deann) Meyer of Chilton, Sandra (John) Lefeber of New Holstein, Darlene (Kenny) Danes of New Holstein, Jim (Julie) Meyer of Chilton, Linda (Jim) Koenigs of Malone "Pipe", Ron (Laurie) Meyer of Chilton, and Donna (Stephen) Keifenheim of Brillion. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends, and his four legged companion, Sky.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Norbert & Elsie Mueller and his father-in-law, Harvey Meyer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 1724 Madison Street in New Holstein. Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate with Deacon Pat Knier assisting. Burial will be in the St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Charlestown.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue in New Holstein on Monday, December 30, 2013, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM when brief rites will be held.
