Obituary

Lawrence A. Lagacy, age 90, formerly of the Town of Greenbush, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 surrounded by his wife and loving family at the Plymouth Care Center where he and his wife have resided for the last two years. Lawrence (Larry) was born on May 13, 1923 in Momence Ill. He was the loving son of the late Louis and Lillie Lagacy. On September 3, 1955 he married the love of his life Cecelia O'Malley of Greenbush, WI. They were married at St. Cloud Catholic Church, St. Cloud, WI. After they were married they made their home on the family farm in Il. for 22 years. After the sale of the farm they moved to Greenbush in 1977 to help Cecelia's parents Edward and Hilda O'Malley with their farm. Lawrence took great pride at being and knowing all that there was to know about farming and the crops that he and his family worked so hard at producing each year. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Lawrence (Larry) is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Cecelia; his two children, June (Richard) Miller of Plymouth, and his son, William (Elizabeth) Lagacy of the Town of Greenbush; two grandchildren, Ann (Mat) Bunke and their children, Jack, Katelyn, Cole, and Emmalee, and Jason (Sarah) Voss and their children Alexander and Layla. He is further survived by his loving sister, Josephine Du Bois of Urbana, Il; his nephew, Robert Lagacy, who was so very dear to him; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; his mother and father in-law; his sisters and brothers, Rose, Phillip, Isola (Louis) Boudreau, Maria (Paul) Longtin, George (Angela) Lagacy, Henry (Edna) Lagacy, Marguerite (Francis) Longtin, Cecilia (Robert) Yost; a brother in-law, Joseph Du Bois; a sister in-law, Ruth O'Malley; and his great grandchildren, Jasmine and Joslin Voss and Owen Bunke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 115 Plymouth Street Plymouth, WI 53073 with the Rev. Daniel Volkert officiating. Burial will be in the St. Cloud Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street St. Cloud, WI 53079 on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 PM and at church in Plymouth on Friday morning from 10:00-11:00 AM. We would like to thank the loving Angels and all the staff of Plymouth Care Center, Dr. Murthy and staff, the loving care he received from Heartland Hospice, and the volunteers of his church, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
