Lawrence Anthony (Larry) Schmitz of Fond du Lac passed away at his home on Thursday, December 6, after a brief illness with his family at his side. He was born on September 4, 1959 to Anthony B. and Mae (Bleuel) Schmitz and grew up in Mt. Calvary, graduating from New Holstein High School in 1977. Larry retired from C.D. Smith Construction, Inc. in Fond du Lac after 29 years. He had a passion for cooking and vacationing in Mexico and Jamaica. He enjoyed playing and being a spectator in baseball, basketball, football and golf. Larry also sang in the choir at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg for 10 years. Surviving Larry are his daughters Arielle (Grant) Wollersheim, and Leah Schmitz; grandchildren Paisley, Hudson, and Lola Wollersheim; his mother Mae Schmitz; and siblings Joan (Dennis) Hill, Allen Schmitz, Richard (Bonnie) Schmitz, and Diane (Dean) Salchert; and many nieces and nephews.
