Obituary

Lennea G. Ensign, 91, of Chilton, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein where she resided since January. The former Lennea Dumke was born August 4, 1925 in Symco, WI to Ed & Minnie (Voss) Dumke. Lennea graduated from Clintonville High School in 1943. On November 3, 1945, she married Chester Ensign; he preceded her in death on May 17, 1984. Lennea worked at the Chilton High School in the Cafeteria. She also worked at Chilton Hospital until retiring. She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Lennea enjoyed camping with her daughter, Linda, and her family and caring for her grand-dogs while the family was at work. Lennea will always be remembered as an avid book reader. Survivors include her two daughters, Linda (Duane) Dickrell of New Holstein and Patti Sabo of Chilton; four grandchildren, Julie Dickrell, Jennifer (Brian) Spencer, Tim Sabo, and Amy Sabo; five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Hailey, Brandon, Matthew, and Anna Rose; two great-great-grandchildren, Garrett and Cora. She is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ed & Minnie Dumke; her husband, Chester; her son, Robert; her grandson, Kurt Dickrell; three sisters; and a brother. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Jonathan Christensen will officiate. Lennea will be laid to rest next to her husband, Chester, and her son, Robert, at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville, WI. Visitation: Family and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, April 19th at the Sippel Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Lennea's name for Heartland Hospice.
