Leona Margretta Mayer, age 92, of Brillion, became an angel in heaven on Monday, March 14, 2016.
Leona was born on September 10, 1923 in Johnsburg, WI, daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Koenigs) Lefeber. She married the love of her life, Francis Mayer, on November 21, 1944. He entered heaven on January 12, 1998. Leona retired from Mirro Aluminum foundry, and most recently work at Michiel’s and Cobblestone Creek.
She was the most loving and caring mother of eight children: sons: Jim (Marge) Mayer of Whitelaw, John Mayer of Reedsburg, Joseph (Judy) Mayer of Brillion, Jeff (Kim) Mayer of Brillion, and Jerome Mayer in heaven; daughters: Mary (Gib) Pilon of Brillion, Joan Hrudka in heaven, Jane (Mike) Treichel of Brillion; son-in-law: Bruce Hrudka of Reedville. Also carrying on her love are 23 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, a sister: Frances Keifenheim, a brother and two sisters-in-law: Martin (Elaine) Lefeber and Janet Novitske, and a brother-in-law: Jerry Fox; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Other beloved family in heaven are her parents, two children, son-in-law: David Krizizike, great-granddaughter: Miriah Seal, five brothers: Richard (Velma), Alfred (Stella), William (Marie), Edwin (Geneva), and Elmer (Rosie), one infant sister: Dorothy Lefeber, other in-laws, relatives, and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street in Brillion, on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. A prayer service will conclude. The visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Morning prayers will take place, and the family will then proceed to church for the Mass at 10:00 a.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Father Timothy, Atrium Care Center in Chilton, and the Drs., nurses, and staff, for their compassionate and friendly care that was shown and given to their Mom.
