Leonard H. Heimerman Sr., age 93, of rural Chilton "Marytown", passed away peacefully Friday, November 6, 2015, at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born June 7, 1922, near Marytown to the late Anton & Anna (Suttner) Heimerman. On May 2, 1945, he married Hildegard Meier at St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg; they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary earlier this year. Leonard, along with his wife, operated the family farm in the Town of Brothertown; in addition he had worked at Arps Corp and Tecumseh Engine Products. Survivors include his wife, Hildegard; eight children, JoAnn (Craig) DeVaud of Oshkosh, David (Sue) Heimerman of Clyde, TX, Daniel (Barb) Heimerman of Pickerel, Donald (Cathy) Heimerman of Random Lake, Ruth (Dan) Bloedorn of Marytown (Chilton), Leonard Jr. (Marla) Heimerman of New Holstein, Nancy (Joe) LeClair of Baileys Harbor, and Barb (Arno) Krupp of St. Anna (New Holstein); 28 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his sister, Mildred Wagner of rural Chilton; six sisters-in-law, Rose Wettstein, Janet Meyer Steinmetz and her husband, Nic Steinmetz, Diane Meier, Terry Meier, Lou Helen Meier, Bernita Meier. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann (Don) Beran; his brother-in-law, Gilbert Wagner and seven additional brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law and a son-in-law, Roger Nelson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown (N10232 County Road G New Holstein, WI 53061). Rev. Zoilo Garibay OFM Cap will officiate. Leonard will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may greet the family on Monday, November 9, 2015, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061. Visitation will also be at the church in Marytown on Tuesday morning, November 10th from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Leonard especially enjoyed reading, playing cards, going to the casino and watching the Brewers, Packers and Badgers games with his family. These occasions often demanded his homemade Cherry Bounce.
