LeRoy "Roy" Schneider, age 77, of Malone "Calumetville", passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
He was born August 9, 1943, in Waukegan, IL to the late Lester & Josephine (Kelbel) Schneider.
Roy attended Holy Rosary Catholic Grade School and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1961. He received his Bachelor's Degree from UW-Stout.
He started his working career at the former Arps Corporation in New Holstein. Roy spent most of his life in sales for Utility Sales & Service in Appleton.
Roy was very active with the Boy Scouts organization; he enjoyed planning the annual canoe trips. He was a member of the Artesia Beach Association. He had a great love for Lake Winnebago and spending time at his cottage near Elcho; enjoying all four seasons of lake activities. Roy was a licensed airplane pilot and had a passion for snowmobiling. Roy was always willing to lend a helping hand and truly enjoyed mentoring people.
Roy is survived by his brothers and sisters, Roger (Judi) Schneider of Vincennes, IN, Ron (Sandie) Schneider of Campbellsburg, KY, Cathy Konen Ruebl (Fred) of Malone, Tom (Karen) Schneider of Cleveland, WI, Barb (Dennis) Forstner of New Holstein, Bev (Bill) Biederwolf of Pearson, WI; special friend, Bryan Schmidt of Calumetville; his sister-in-law, Tammy Schneider of Menomonie, WI; and his brother-in-law, Joe Merchant of Oakland City, IN. He is further survived by many nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lester & Josephine Schneider; his brother, Larry Schneider; his sister, Laurie Merchant; brother-in-law, Oscar Konen; and a niece.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Roy's family at Holy Rosary Church on Saturday, April 24th from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM.
Roy's family would like visiting guests to please wear masks and maintain social distancing practice.
Memorials in his name will be directed to the Town of Calumet Volunteer Fire Department.
