Lester W. Wolf, age 91, of W6139 Victorian Drive, Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Home in Appleton. Lester was born on September 3, 1920 in the town of Brillion, son of the late William and Laura (Nies) Wolf. He married Evelyn Steinbach on June 27, 1942 in Brillion. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2011. Lester loved traveling, especially to Branson, MO and enjoyed listening to old time country western music. He also enjoyed collecting Minneapolis Moline Model Tractors and model cars, going to car shows and thresherees, and he had a lot of fun playing cards with their many card club friends. Lester was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Appleton and the Good Shepherd Senior Group. Survivors include his two sons and two daughters-in-law: Gary and Mary Wolf of Wellesley, MA and Lonnie and Candace Wolf of Appleton; six grandchildren: Gregory (Laurie) Wolf, Allison Wolf, Michael (fiance Laura Kwinn) Wolf, Michelle (Lee) Curtis, Daniel Wolf, and Emily (David) Kruchten; two great grandchildren: Grant and Leah Wolf; one brother-in-law: Harold (Luella) Steinbach of Kaukauna; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Lester was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn, one daughter: Sandy, his brother: Everett, three sisters: Vernetta Poet, Ethel Dohr, and Helen Gehl, and his best friend: Sandys dog: Schatz. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2220 East College Avenue, Appleton. The Rev. Timothy Seabaugh will officiate. Burial will take place in the St. Peter Cemetery, Hilbert. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. The Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, is assisting the Wolf family with funeral arrangements. You were so kind to Dad and that made it so much easier in his final days.
