Lilly Schmidt

Lilly Emma Schmidt, age 97, of St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, formerly of Brillion, died on Friday, October 4, 2013. She was born on January 7, 1916 in the Town of Rockland, daughter of the late Leonhard and Emilie (Piepenburg) Fischer. Lilly married Gordon R. Schmidt on May 6, 1939 in the Town of Rockland. She farmed with her husband on the Fischer Family Homestead until their retirement. Lilly loved music and was an accomplished piano player. She also loved flower gardens. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Rantoul and the Ladies Aid. Survivors include her children, Gordon Jr. (Glenna Rose) Schmidt of Mt. Blanchard OH, Michael (Sandra) Schmidt of Springfield MO, JoDelle (Stephen) Carroll of Darboy, Gina (Ricki) Kinast of Brillion, 5 grandchildren, Tammy Davison, Tricia Schmidt, Trina Vasquez, Tracy Littell and Todd Schmidt, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon on February 24, 2006 and 2 brothers Elmer and Roland. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rantoul. The Rev. Timothy Benninghoff will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
