Linda (Miller) Geen, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2026, surrounded by family at Helen’s House in Appleton. She was born to Henry and Verta Lee Gilmore on March 8th, 1943 in Columbia, South Carolina.
Before settling down in Wisconsin, Linda lived in Italy for three years during high school, while her father worked on the U.S. Army base there. She then moved to Washington State, and graduated from Clover Park High School in 1961. She married Jim Miller in 1962 and moved to Wisconsin. Together they raised their five children on a farm in Reedsville. In 2008 she married Reginald Geen, he preceded her in death in 2015.
Linda was an artist - a baker, accomplished seamstress, and quilter. She shared her love of her crafts with her friends and family, baking with her grandchildren, and surprising everyone with blankets, clothes, or a quilt, each one personalized for the person she had made it for.
Linda was incredibly kind and generous with her time and her love. She loved being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and caregiver to everyone she knew. Linda took the time to truly know everyone she met; there was no question she loved her family and friends, her attention to every detail in every person’s life was proof enough. Anyone who met her knew the true blessing that was Linda’s goodness - she was engaged and interested in every activity, every story, and everyone she knew. She genuinely wanted the best for everyone. She was also very funny, a whiz at Triominos, a puzzle queen, and always trying to sneak a sweet treat.
Linda was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others, and did so in all that she did. She showed love and kindness to everyone, a true caregiver to everyone she met. She loved playing worship music, was a prayer warrior, and easily built a community wherever she went. Now that she has passed into the arms of the Lord, her physical life on earth is over, but it is the beginning of an eternal and joyous heavenly journey. Linda spoke passionately about reuniting with her mother, her most treasured companion, in Heaven.
Linda is remembered by her family and friends; loved by everyone who knew her.
She would have loved to go back to Italy, so now I like to close my eyes and picture her there in a gorgeous sundress, chocolate gelato in hand, taking in the sun.
Survivors include her children: Theresa & John Franczek of Vulcan, Michigan, Debra & Bill Cohen of Brillion, Ann & Bill Dickinson of Appleton, Cheryl & Dave Davis of Wilson, North Carolina, and Dan & Kim Miller of Reedsville; her grandchildren: Jake (fiancée Sarah) Franczek, Luke Franczek, Erin (Kevin) Sperber, Hunter Kuehn, Nicole (Tyler) Behnke, Josh Cohen, Emily (special friend, Nick) Cohen, Maggie (special friend, Alex) Dickinson, Michael Dickinson, Jessica Davis, Eric Davis, James (Adrienne) Davis, Krysta Miller, Katelyn Miller, Katrina Miller; great grandchildren: Christian, Addison, Aubrey, Easton, Ashlyn, Delilah, Silas, Jimmy, and Theodore; and a brother and sister-in-law: James & Judy Gilmore of Florida. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by a brother: David Gilmore; the father of her children: Jim Miller husband: Reginald Geen and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. Ross Henzi and Rev. Nathan Moldenhauer. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday morning at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brillion, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
The family of Linda Geen would love to thank Helen’s House and the St. Croix Hospice Staff for the love, care, and kindness they showed Linda. It did not go unnoticed.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
