Lloyd Louis Habermann, age 91, of Brillion, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Brillion Westhaven. Lloyd was born on November 13, 1922 in Brillion, son of the late Arnold and Emma Weyhausen Habermann. He was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1941. Lloyd went on to serve our country in the United States Army. On May 4, 1946, he married Lynabelle Brehmer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. She preceded him in death on February 4, 1995. Lloyd was a carpenter. He joined Eldore Goldschmidt and Eddie Michaels building homes, remodeling, and cabinetry. Lloyd was very proud of his military service. He was stationed in the Fiji Islands with the fourth Air Force division throughout World War II. He was a very active member of the American Legion Bloedorn, Becker, Jensen Post 126 of Brillion for 68 years. He also served as Legion Post Commander multiple terms. At the state level, he served as a Vice Commander. He also had many different leadership roles in the American Legion at the district and state including Badger Boy State and State Americanism. He also was a member of the 40 et 8 Legion Post. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Lloyd played in a couples' bowling league with his wife, sang in the Barber Shop Singers, enjoyed playing cards, and loved spending time with his family. Lloyd is survived by his three children: Lee (Rosemary) Habermann of Waukesha, and twins, Larry Habermann of Brillion and Laurel (Mark) Menard of Enumclaw, WA; grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Habermann, Katie (Nate) George, Allison (fiancé Ryan Severson) Habermann, Cara Menard and Clare Menard; great-grandchildren, Michael, Haylee, and Kaden Habermann, Hudson and Harper George; and beloved companion, Leona Popp of Neenah; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law: Arlene (Rev. Oscar) Lemke and one infant brother, David. Funeral Service will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Ross Henzi with burial to follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Brillion. Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 126 of Brillion.
