Obituary

Lois M. Wink, age 82, of New Holstein passed away with her family at her side on Saturday, January 4, 2014, following a brief illness. She was born May 6, 1931, in Milwaukee. Lois graduated from Hilbert High School in 1949 and from Green Bay Beauty School in 1950. On October 10, 1953, she married Jerome H. Wink in Forest Junction, they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary this past October with a gathering of friends and family. Lois and her husband lived in Brillion after their marriage until moving to New Holstein in 1964. Lois enjoyed her many trips to their cabin on White Potato Lake where she enjoyed fishing, entertaining her family, and many guests. Lois also enjoyed snowmobiling, touring the lake on the pontoon boat, and attending Packer games. Lois and Jerry enjoyed all their years of traveling throughout the US, Europe, parts of Canada and Mexico. Lois was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in New Holstein where she taught Sunday School and was a Bible School Teacher. She was a former Brownie and Cub Scout Leader. Lois volunteered for many years with the Calumet Homestead Auxiliary and was a board member for eight years. Survivors include her husband, Jerry; her children, Craig (Kelly) Wink of Fond du Lac, Dawn (Bill) Schmitz of Malone "Johnsburg", Sherri (Oscar) Serron of Appleton, and Scott (Trudy) Wink of New Holstein; her grandchildren, Jaryd, Cameron, and Ava Wink, Stefanie (Jason) Petrie, Lauren (Jimmy) Guelig, and Marlee Schmitz, Michael and Christina Serron, and Anna Wink; her great-grandchildren, Vera Petrie, Daelyn Wink, and two additional great-grandchildren on their way. In addition she is survived by her sister, LaVerne Wall of Green Bay; her sisters-in-law, LaVerne Ott of Brillion, Marcella "Red" deCoster of New Holstein, Germaine Wink of Luxemburg; and her brother-in-law, Dean (Gertie) Wink of Appleton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; a grandchild, Alexandra Wink; a sister, Delores Miller; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Funeral Services will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at St. John United Church of Christ 2111 Church Street New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. James E. Werner will officiate. Burial will be in the New Holstein Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday afternoon from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A memorial fund will be established in her name.
