Lorraine J.“Rainey” Goldschmidt, age 84, formerly of Brillion passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday morning, June 17, 2026 at Havenfield, Chilton.
Rainey was born on January 1, 1942 in Brillion to the late Henry and Verna (Krepline) Goldschmidt. She was a graduate of Brillion High School. Rainey worked for Mirro Aluminum for 39 and a half years, and was a life long member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Brillion.
Rainey was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and could be found watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, and sometimes the Badgers and Bucks. On Saturday mornings if you couldn’t find her at home she would be found with her sister Diane at a casino in front of a slot machine. Rainey also enjoyed the many trips she took with her lifelong friend Glorianne Kleinhans. Above all Rainey enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her great-great nieces and nephews.
Rainey is survived by her sister: Diane Sittman; sister-in-law: Sharon Goldschmidt; her nieces and nephews: Debbie (Michael) Krepline and their children: Christopher (Amanda), Ashley, Brent (Taylor),Jesse (Kayla), Cody (Tracy) and Stacy; Terry Sittman (Jenny) and his children: Crystal (Jacob) and John (Tiffany); JR Sittman; Lorrie (Ed) Muth and their son: Taylor; Brian (Chris) Goldschmidt and their children: Megan and Aaron. She is further survived by many Special Great, Great nieces, nephews, other relatives and her lifelong friend: Glorianne Kleinhans. Rainey was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Harly and Violet Goldschmidt, and a niece, Barbara Sittman.
Funeral Services for Rainey will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Brillion. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 10:00AM until the time of service 11:00AM. Rainey will be laid to rest next to her parents at the Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Havenfield in Chilton for treating Rainey like family during her stay. A special thank you to her niece Debbie for all her love and care for Rainey. A special thank you to Pastor Henzi and Pastor Moldenhauer for the spiritual care you provided to Rainey through the years.
