Lorraine M. Kohlman, age 87, of Fond du Lac, formerly of St. Cloud, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014, at the St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac.
The former Lorraine Diedrich was born August 1, 1927 in St. Cloud to the late Alfred Sr. & Emma (Sippel) Diedrich.
She attended St. Cloud Catholic Grade School. Lorraine graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac and received her teaching certificate from the UW Milwaukee Teacher's College.
On November 15, 1947, she married Robert C. Kohlman at St. Cloud Catholic Church in St. Cloud.
Lorraine taught school in a one room school house and was also a dance and baton teacher. She and her husband owned Kohlman's Hardware and Gift store in St. Cloud. In her later working career, she was a highly known Mary Kay Cosmetic consultant.
Lorraine was a member of the St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church where she also was a choir member for many years, the Christian Women's Society, a member of the St. Cloud American Legion Auxiliary, and the area Homemakers.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; her sons, Doug (Kathy) Kohlman and Dennis (Sue) Kohlman; her daughters, Diane (Jake) Ploederl and Debbie Stillahn; her grandchildren, Aaron (Kristin) Kohlman, Angie (Jason) Wagner, Nick (Jackie) Goebel, Amy Stillahn, and Jim Stillahn; great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Adeline, Ella, Ethan, Hudson, Hailey, and Alexis; step grandchildren, JJ, Jeff, and Brian Ploederl; step great-grandchildren, JorJa, Braden, Jordan, Jaiden, Brianna, and Koral; sisters, Verna Bechard, Norma Ausloos, Kate (Eugene) Barr, and Mary Joan (Harold) Hellman; brothers, Joe (Peggy) Diedrich and Mark Diedrich. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Alfred Sr. & Emma Diedrich; four brothers, Alfred Jr. & John (Marlie) Diedrich; infants Larry Diedrich and Tommy Diedrich, and in laws, Dick Bechard, Leonard Ausloos, and Karen Diedrich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church 924 Main Street St. Cloud, WI 53079. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the mass.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street in St. Cloud on Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM when brief rites will be held.
The St. Cloud American Legion Auxiliary will conduct a brief service at the funeral home Saturday morning at 9:30 AM.
Memorials in memory of Lorraine may be directed for the Legion Auxiliary for replacing of the American flags lining Main Street in St. Cloud.
