Lucy E. Heus, age 92, of New Holstein, passed away peacefully Monday, November 6, 2017, at Caring Hands Assisted Living in New Holstein. Lucy Brandt was born July 19, 1925, in St. Anna to Peter & Anna (Steffes) Brandt. She attended St. Ann Grade School and graduated from Kiel High School in 1943. On June 10, 1944, she married Edward "Eddie" C. Heus at St. Ann Catholic Church in St. Anna. Eddie preceded her in death on June 11, 2013. Lucy had worked at the former Leverenz Shoe Co. and Depies Oil in New Holstein. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Christian Women's Society. Survivors include her six children, Edward Jr. (Mary) Heus of Sheboygan, Daniel (Diane) Heus of New Holstein, Donald Heus of St. Louis, MO, Michael Heus of Menasha, Elizabeth "Betty" (Oran) Sattler of Malone, and John (Leigh Ann) Heus of Carrollton, TX; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Blanche (William) Broehm of Menasha; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Peter & Anna Brandt; her husband, Edward "Eddie" Heus; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Heus; a brother, Lester (Sally) Brandt; two sisters-in-law, Gertrude (Alden) Gross and Henrietta (Leo) Winkel and two brothers-in-law, Clifford (Dorothy) Heus and Gilbert (Veronica) Heus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061. Lucy will be laid to rest next to her husband, Edward, in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
