Madeline M. Stecker, age 93, formerly of the town of Rantoul, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Chilton Care Center. Madeline was born on October 26, 1918 in the town of Chilton, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Kamer) Mertz. In November of 1940, she married Elmer Schad. He preceded her in death. Then in 1955, Madeline married Reinhold Stecker. He preceded her in death as well. Madeline loved to bake, cook, play cards, especially sheep head, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Womens Auxiliary at the hospital in Chilton, as well as a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Rantoul and the ladies aide. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Elmar and Mary Schad of South Milwaukee; two daughters and one son-in-law: Shirley Noah of Cudahy and Judy and Bob Dollevoet of Combined Locks; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law: Rita (Alex) Bonde of Kiel; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Madeline was preceded in death by her parents, both of her spouses, one son-in-law: Gary Noah; her siblings, and other in-laws. Funeral Service will be held at NOON on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in the town of Rantoul. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Timothy Benninghoff. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. The service will follow at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
