Margaret F. Behle, 99, of Beaver Dam died Wednesday February 17, 2010 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam where she has resided for the past 7 years. The former Margaret Werner was born March 31, 1910 in Burnett, WI to the late Gustav & Ida Prellwitz Werner and attended school in the Burnett area. Margaret worked at the Bear Brand Hosiery Mills in Horicon, Beaver Dam and Hartford before being transferred to Infant Socks in Fond du Lac and then to Portage Hosiery Mills in Portage. On November 26, 1936 she married Roland C. Behle. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2003. After her marriage, she assisted her husband in operating their cheese enterprise, Behle Bros. Cheese. Margaret was a member of St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and its Ladies Aid Society. She was an active auxiliary member at the Lutheran Hospital and later at the Community Hospital. Margaret also volunteered and served as Chairperson for the Bethesda County Fair. Survivors include her sister, Charlotte (Edgar) Messer of Beaver Dam; cousins; nieces, nephews; special friends, Eugene Burg & Sylvin Steffes both of St. Cloud and many personal and cheese industry related friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Roland; a sister, Laura and four brothers, her twin, Martin, John, Richard and Oscar. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday February 23, 2010 at St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church 300 West Street Beaver Dam. Burial will be in the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in the Town of Trenton. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the time of services.
