Marian C. (Meier) Loehr, age 85, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Mount Calvary, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at SSM St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
She was born November 3, 1937, to Anton & Margaret (Franzen) Meier. Marian attended St. Mary's Catholic Grades School in Marytown.
On June 18, 1962, she married Walter Loehr at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown. Walter preceded her in death on August 28, 2012.
Prior to marriage, Marian worked at the Aluminum Factory in Chilton. Following her marriage, she helped run the family dairy farm. She also worked at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary until her retirement.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Church, the Christian Women's Society, AMVETS, Senior Sheepshead Card Club, the Malone Area Heritage Museum, and AL-ANON Group.
Survivors include her two daughters, Viola (Daniel) Steffes of St. Cloud and Janet (Michael) Furtak of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, Danielle (Jon) Rentmeester, Thomas (Hanna) Steffes, Jessica (Ryan) Birschbach, Dylan Steffes (special friend, Brooke Kennedy), Nicole Furtak (special friend, Austin Lauer), and Jason Furtak; seven greatgrandchildren, Asher Rentmeester, Hailey Rentmeester, Aria Steffes, Ava Steffes, Harper Birschbach, Jack Birschbach, Bennett Birschbach; her brothers, Melvin (Rosie) Meier of Chilton and Br. Raymond Meier of Chilton; her sister, Margaret Voss of Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Meier of Chilton & Marilyn (Gene) Smet of Saukville; her godchildren, Don Diederich, John Loehr, and Anna MacLeod; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Anton & Margaret Meier; her husband, Walter; two daughters, Marie & Betty; a son, Henry; two brothers, Ben Meier and Eddie Meier; her sister, Dorothy (Donald Sr.) Diederich; her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Raymond & Loretta Loehr; and her brother-in-law, Eugene Loehr.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Church, 308 S. County Road W, Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap will officiate. Burial will take place in the spring in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Marian's family at the church in Mount Calvary on Wednesday, February 8th from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM.
