Mariann Durig

May 29, 1941 — December 23, 2021

Mariann Durig, age 80, of Hilbert, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.

Mariann was born in Brillion on May 29, 1941, daughter of the late Otto and Helen (Schwalenberg) Arndt.  She was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1959.  On December 23, 1962 she married Robert “Bob” Durig, Jr. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church.  The coupled shared 59 wonderful years together.  Mariann was working at Northern Tissue in the office when she met Bob.  From there, the couple owned and operated the Meat Market in Potter for many years.  She also worked at Farm and Home in Chilton before working at Tadych’s T&C Market until her retirement.  Mariann enjoyed traveling and visiting family, sewing and quilting making many of the banners and decorations for church, polka dancing, and gardening.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bob of Hilbert; their children and spouses: twin sons, Darrel “Dee” & Beth Durig of Chillicothe, IL and Daniel “Dan” & Ruth Durig of Middleton, Steven & Phyllis Durig of New London, Alison & Derek Robinson of Templeton, CA, and Nancy Durig of Waterloo; grandchildren: Katie (Aevyrie) Roessler of Portland, OR, Rebekah Durig of Rockville, MD, and Ben Durig of Deforest; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Clayton & Dolly Arndt of Brillion and Gloria Durig of St. Clarasville, OH; other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Dr. Robert & Juanita Durig, Sr., one sister-in-law: Sarah Arndt, and one brother-in-law: Dr. James C. Durig.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Brillion.  Officiating will be Rev. Phil Janisch and Rev. Ross Henzi.  Burial will be at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
