Marilyn Grace Weins, age 82 of Hilbert, found peace in God's arms on Wednesday December 24, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 16, 1932 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Otto & Amanda (Winkel) Pflughoeft. She was the wife and love of Jerome Weins for 65 years. They met at a wedding reception and were married on July 2, 1949. Survivors include her husband Jerome, her children, Gary (Nancy) Weins, Linda (Kirk) Eichoff, Susan (deceased) Ernest Guillette, Sherry (Norman) Otto, Dan (Eileen) Weins, Michael (Kay) Weins, John (deceased infant), Julie (Steve) Henke, Joan (Jeff) Kluever, 28 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren 3 expected great grandchildren in 2015, a sister Esther, sisters-in-law Eleanor Muenster, Jacqueline Lemberger, Martha Pflughoeft, and Eileen Weins. She was preceded in death by a grandson Ryan Guillette, 8 brothers and sisters Mike and Rose Weins and numerous sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law. Marilyn was a farmers wife and homemaker. She loved gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking and bingo. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Hilbert and St. Marys Christian Mothers Society. The Weins family maintained St. Marys Cemetery in Hilbert for decades while farming was their livelihood. She was known for her love and grace that she conveyed to everyone. Her wish was to remain in her home to the end and this wish was fulfilled. She always put others needs in front of her own. "No tears to be shed- Laughter and joy only." Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday December 27, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert. The Rev. Michael Betley will officiate. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Hilbert. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Goggins and Dr. Kohl and the staff of Calumet County Hospice, especially Amanda. "To die in love is to live in the hearts of those we leave behind."
