Marion J. Winfrey, age 89, of Reedsville, died on Sunday February 2, 2014 at the Manitowoc Health Care Center. She was born on January 31, 1925 in Appleton, daughter of the late George and Christine (Cherney) Benzschawel. She graduated from Reedsville High School in 1942 and attended Manitowoc Business College for 2 years. Marion worked as a secretary for Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co. In 1946 she married Jerome Mulhaney. They had a son Thomas Scott Mulhaney. In 1962 she married Charles Winfrey and they spent the next 52 years together. She owned Ye Olde Inn and Lanes in Reedsville from 1955 to 1971. Marion also served on the Board of Directors for the Reedsville Housing Authority for 12 years and as office manager for 10 years, retiring at the age of 80. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Having a love for flowers, floral design was a rewarding part of her life, and the grandchildren were her "hugs from the heart" treasures. Survivors include her husband Charles, her son Thomas Scott (Jean) Mulhaney of Two Rivers, 3 grandchildren, Brian (Laura) Mulhaney of Appleton, Shawn (Heidi) Mulhaney of DePere, and Michael Mulhaney of Two Rivers, 3 great grandchildren, 2 half sisters, Shelli (Dave) Maigatter, Robin (Bob) Weigand and a half brother Michael (Dianne) Benzschawel all of Manitowoc, 2 sisters-in-law Jean Mongold of Tuscumbia MO and LeAnn Winfrey of Kansas City MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at NOON at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Timothy Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Reedsville.
