Marjorie C. (Schmitz) Schneider, age 97, formerly of Mount Calvary and Johnsburg, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023, at the St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac.
She was born March 15, 1926, in Marytown to Joseph & Isabel (Faber) Schmitz. Margie attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School in Marytown.
On June 27, 1953, she married Claude J. Schneider at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown; Claude preceded her in death on July 11, 2008.
Margie had worked at the former Leverenz Shoe Company in New Holstein and the former Tecumseh Engine Products where she retired in 1988.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. John the Baptist site in Johnsburg. Margie loved to fish and work in her garden.
Margie is survived by her two sons, Lawrence (Joanne) Schneider of North Fond du Lac and Lee (Nancy) Schneider of Grand Marsh; four grandchildren, Samuel, David, Duane, and Caitlin (Zack) Schneider; four great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Ralph Schneider; her sister-in-law, Lorraine Ebertz; numerous nieces; nephews; and other family members.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Claude; her parents, Joseph & Isabel Schmitz; her brothers and sisters, Les (Ruth) Schmitz, Raymond Schmitz, Delores (Jerry) Blonigen, John (Alma) Schmitz, Wally (Janet) Mand, Dorothy (Melvin) Freund, and Melvin (Christina) Schmitz; her brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Milt Dilling, Edwin (Leona) Schneider, Erna (James) Halbach, Othmar (Rose Mary) Schneider, Clarence (Irene) Schneider, Walter (Bernice) Schneider, Edna (Cletus) Hochrein, Mildred (Orville) Haensgen, Marion Schneider, Alex Ebertz, and Harvey Schneider.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish- St. John the Baptist site in Johnsburg (N9288 County Road W, Malone, WI 53049) Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap, will officiate. Entombment will take place at the Shrine of Rest Chapel Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Margie's family at the church in Johnsburg Thursday morning, December 14th from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
Margie's family expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff at the St. Francis Home for the care given to her the past 4+ years.
