Obituary

Marlene H. Beyer, age 85 of Brillion died peacefully Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton.

Marlene was born on January 17, 1941 to the late Earl and Erna (Gotter) Pingel. She was a graduate of Hilbert High School with the class of 1959. Marlene continued her education at UW-Oshkosh, where she earned her teaching degree. On July 1, 1967, Marlene married Ronald Beyer in Hilbert. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1984. Her faith was important to her and was an active member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Marlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially when bowling, shooting darts, or playing bean bags. Her greatest joy, however, was her family—particularly the time she spent with her grandchildren as they grew up. She cherished being able to retire and devote more time to them. Marlene loved staying busy with craft projects, and when she wasn’t crafting, she could often be found reading a good book. And, of course, she always made time on Sundays to watch the Green Bay Packers.

She is survived by her son and three daughters: Julie (Jamie) Bell, Joel Beyer, Jenny (Karl) Bastian and Janell Beyer all of Brillion; six grandchildren: Mara (Brad) Veltus, McKenna (Logan) Smith, Ali Beyer, Anthony Daniels, Emma Bastian and Trent Hammack; three great-grandchildren: Maddie, Marley and Adaliyah. Marlene is further survived by her sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; son: John, parents, brother: Leslie Pingel, and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Funeral Services for Marlene will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Brillion. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Ross Henzi and Rev. Nathan Moldenhauer. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 9:00AM until 10:45AM then the family will have brief prayers.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Marlene’s name.

The family would like to thank St. Elizabeth Hospital, especially the ICU nurses, respiratory therapists, and providers for the care and compassion shown to our mom during her time at the hospital.
