Marlys May Mathiebe, age 75, of 421 Fawn Drive of Brillion, passed away on Saturday morning, July 28, 2012 at Manor Care East Nursing Home in Green Bay. Marlys was born on August 28, 1936 in Brown County, daughter of the late Edwin and LoLeta (Natzke) Brockmann. She was a graduate of De Pere East High School, class of 1954. On October 13, 1956, Marlys married William Mathiebe at Zion Lutheran Church in Wayside. She worked numerous jobs over the years, but the last job was at Mullins Oil in Brillion where she ran the counter. Marlys was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Ladies Aid, and a 25 year member of the Home and Community Educators Kitchen Cut-Ups. She loved to play cards and was with the same card group with Bill for 50 years. Marlys also loved dancing, playing sheepshead, singing, playing the slot machines, cooking, baking, canning, bowling, and traveling. She was an avid Packer, Brewer and Cub fan, as well as an avid watcher of Wheel of Fortune. Marlys is survived by her husband: Bill; one son: Bert; one daughter and son-in-law: Gail (Amer) Kader; six grandchildren: Matthew and Holly Mathiebe, Umena, Tania and Sarah Kader, and Taylor Mathiebe; two brothers-in-law: Bob (Janet) Mathiebe and Terry (Deb) Mathiebe, one sister-in-law: Jean Verbockel; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Step Father: Rudy Rose, one son Bruce, step-sisters: Arvilla Kocian and Velma Lodel, and brothers-in-law: Dick, Mike, and an infant Jim Mathiebe, and Alvin Verbockel. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. Officiating at the service will be the Revs. Ross Henzi and Jonathan Bourman. Burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Brillion.
