Martha O. (Koehler) Nett, age 85, died on January 20, 2018, at Willowdale Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein, WI. She was born on February 15, 1932, daughter of the
late Henry and Alice (Joas) Koehler, and raised on the family farm in St. John and attended grade
school in St. John.
Bob and Martha married on September 11, 1951, and their 50th wedding anniversary was the
same as date of the famous 9/11 tragedy. They settled on the Nett farm in Charlesburg. She was
a house wife and farm wife. They loved to dance the polka, play Sheephead, eat out, fish, and
travel. She also loved her flowers until her debilitation in 2009 and residence at Willowdale
Nursing and Rehab until her death.
Martha is survived by her children: Beverly (Nett) Marchant and son-in-law Harry Marchant of
Sun Prairie and son Gary Nett of Crivitz. Her grandchildren are Roberta Marchant (fiance'
Lane), Ryan Marchant and wife Megan of Manitowoc, Brad Marchant of Sun Prairie and Adam
Nett (fiancee' Samantha) of New Holstein. Martha also has 2 great-grandchildren Neeve and
Finn Marchant. She is further survived by her brother Jerome Koehler and wife Karen of
Freedom, Florida, sister-in-law Donna Koehler of Texas and brother-in-law Bert Daun. She is further survived by many nieces; nephews; relatives; and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert A. Nett in 2013; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Anita (Harvey) Bernard, Dorothy (Ray) Van Asten, Rosella "Sally" Krause
(Harry Braatz and Art Krause) and Monica (Francis) Dorn. Deceased brothers and sisters-in-law
include Art (Germaine) Koehler, Melvin Koehler and Ronald (Isabelle) Koehler. Also deceased
are sisters-in-law Esther (Nett) Daun and Donna (Nett) Heimermann and her husband Lester
Heimermann.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 5, 2018, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 54 E. Main Street, Chilton, WI 53014. Rev. Larry Abler, OFM Cap, will officiate. Martha will be laid to rest next to her husband in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Charlesburg.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with the family on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061, from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM and again on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 9:00-10:00 AM at the Sippel Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank: the personnel at Willowdale Nursing and Rehabilitation for their
extensive care of Martha since 2009. Hopefully now she is enjoying a polka dance, etc.
The family wishes instead of flowers that gifts may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church
in Chilton as they undergo a major parish building renovation.
