Marvin J. Thome, 65, of Fond du Lac died early Thursday morning, October 28, 2010 when he was struck by a car as he walked to his job at the Fond du Lac Humane Society. He was born April 14, 1945 to the late Oscar & Estella Lefeber Thome. Marvin helped many family members, friends, neighbors, and other area people with fixing their electrical problems. One of Marvin's hobbies was Ham Radios. He liked contacting people all over and getting to know them. He enjoyed sitting down with friends and family to have a home cooked meal and conversation. Marvin liked living in Fond du Lac and his walk everyday to his job. He walked everywhere and if anyone would offer him a ride, he would say "no I'll walk". Marvin enjoyed a simple quiet life and enjoyed visiting with people one on one rather than in a large group. He is survived by his aunt, LaVerne Lefeber of St. Cloud and his uncle, Eugene Lefeber of St. Cloud. In addition, he is survived by cousins and many friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar & Estella Thome. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street in St. Cloud. Rev. Joseph Coerber will preside. Burial will be in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Johnsburg.
