Mary Ann Schumacher, age 93, of Brillion, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Brillion West Haven.

Mary Ann was born at home on April 10, 1933 in Brillion, daughter of the late John & Rose (Opichka) Dvorachek. She was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1951. She married Charles “Charlie” Schumacher on September 30, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brillion. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2019.

Mary Ann was employed for many years at the Credit Union in Brillion. Mary Ann was an amazing caretaker. She always remembered birthdays, angel food birthday cakes for all of her children, throwing a birthday party for Charlie every year, and Christmas presents for everyone. She and Charlie enjoyed going to their cottage on Long Lake, pontoon rides, and fishing. Mary Ann was always the better fisher, and she wouldn’t leave for anything if the fish were biting. She was an amazing cook and baker, making German potato salad and poppyseed cake were some of her specialties. Mary Ann and Charlie enjoyed polka dancing, sheephead, following the Braves and later the Brewers games, and truly just being together.

Mary Ann was also very dedicated and active in everything that she supported. From the Christian Mothers at church, St. Vincent de Paul, the Catholic Knights where she was the local chapters’ secretary and treasurer, she helped to initiate the hot tamale lunch program at St. Mary’s Catholic School. Mary Ann worked many elections and collected for the Red Cross.

Survivors include her children and spouses: Don (Bev) of Milwaukee, Dave (Julie) of Black River Falls, Judy (Bob) Stebane of Kaukauna, Jim (Kay) of Brillion, Bill (Greta) of Oshkosh, Jane (Eric) Lund of Hortonville, and the late Bob (Melissa) of Appleton; 16 grandchildren: Andrew (Julie), Laura (Dave) Zabrauskis, Greg (Katie), Elizabeth, Matt (Haylle) Stebane, Melissa (Darron) Lattomus, Megan (Alex) Ourada, Jason (Tammie), Kelly (Todd) Dakins, Eric (Nickole), Amber, Kyle (Emily), Emmi, Collin Lund, Eathan Lund and Riley Schumacher, 21 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister-in-law: Marilyn Dvorchek, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles “Charlie” on June 27, 2019; her parents: John & Rose; her in-laws: Leo & Margaret (Schuh) Schumacher; a son: Bob; a brother: William “Bill” Dvorachek; a sister: Geraldine Buchholz; in-laws: Clarence (Jean) Schumacher, Gertrude (Norbert) Miller, Victor, Leo (Betty), Alfred (Marlene), and Mary (Bob) Cohen (Giles Kane).

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Colle and Deacon Greg Van Thiel. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
