Mary Clementine (O'Brien) Clausen, age 77, of New Holstein, passed away on April 7, 2025. She was born on April 15, 1947, in Prairie du Chien, WI, to the late Clement and Virginia O'Brien. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Viterbo College in La Crosse, WI. On July 6, 1974, she married Daniel Clausen at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse, WI.

Mary taught mathematics at New Holstein High School from 1969-2010. Her love of math carried into other hobbies, particularly sewing and quilting. Mary, along with her husband, Dan, enjoyed a more recent hobby together painting barn quilts for Calumet County. She spent countless hours volunteering at Ledge View Nature Center, enjoying events such as Maple Syrup Sunday and the annual bike tour.

Survivors include her three daughters, Erica (David) Vetrovec of Madison, WI; Andrea (Andrew) Krawczyk of Roseville, MN; and Diana Clausen of Robbinsdale, MN. Mary's grandchildren, Grace, Natalie, Cecelia, Benjamin, and Vincent, were the joy of her life in recent years. In addition, she is survived by her brother Michael (Lynn) O'Brien of Reedsburg, WI; brother Allen (Michele) O'Brien of Eastman, WI; brother-in-law Ronald (Jane) Clausen of Denver, CO; brother-in-law Thomas Clausen of Apple Valley, MN; sister-in-law Jacqueline (Larry) Phillips of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law Myron Kasch of Eagan, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Virginia (Torgerson) O'Brien; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Betty Clausen; her husband, Daniel Clausen; her sister, Sharon (John) Warwick; her sister-in-law, Jeanette Kasch; and sister-in-law Shauna Clausen.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Alvan Amadi will officiate.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Mary's family at Holy Rosary Church on Monday, April 14th from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Friends of Ledge View Nature Center.
