Obituary

Mary J. (Fleischmann) Hess, age 84, of New Holstein, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Willowpark Place in New Holstein. She was born July 20, 1937, in Milwaukee to the late Joseph & Ruth (Kayser) Fleischmann. Mary graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee in 1955. On April 12, 1958, she married Richard "Dick" M. Hess; Dick preceded her in death on November 16, 2014. Mary was proud to raise her three children in New Holstein. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Christian Women Society as well at the New Holstein American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her three children, her son, Patrick (Connie) Hess of Morganton, NC, and their children, Ashley, Nicholas (girlfriend, Jade Mineau), and Amber (fiancé, Cory Silvers), her daughter, Therese (Jeffrey) Suttner of New Holstein, and their children, Leta (Alan) Becker, Brianna (Brad) Heusterberg, Shane (Casey) Suttner, her daughter, Sally (Philip) Baran of North Port, FL; her great-grandchildren, Logan, Navallie, Kabela, Jonathan, Simon, Beckett, and Asti; her brothers-in-law, Tom (Joan) Hess of Athelstane, WI and Jerry Hess of Wausau, WI; her sisters-in-law, Anne (William) Anderson of Athelstane, WI, Nancy Hess of New Holstein, Judi Hess of Kimberly, and Diane Hess of Hudson. Mary is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Ruth Fleischmann; her husband, Richard "Dick" Hess; a grandson, Myles Hess; her brothers, Rev. George Fleischmann and John "Jack" (Anne) Fleischmann; her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Raymond & Rose Hess; her brothers-in-law, Robert Hess, James Hess, John Hess, Frank Hess; her sisters-in-law, Lilly (John) Eckert and Mary (Jesse) Edwards. A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Holy Rosary Cemetery following the Mass. Visitation: Family and friends may visit with her family at the Holy Rosary Church on Monday morning, February 14th from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM. Mary's family expresses their sincere appreciation to the entire staff at Willowpark Place Assisted Living and staff of Calumet County Home Health & Hospice for the care given to our mom.
