Obituary

Mary Lou Olig, age 81, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac following a three month battle with cancer. She was born December 20, 1936, in Fond du Lac to Lloyd & Rosella "Sally" (Buechel) Miller. Mary graduated from Goodrich High School in 1956. Mary and her family operated the Community Hall in Mount Calvary from 1967 until 1978. Following operating the Community Hall, she had worked at St. Lawrence Seminary, The Hair Hut, and Edith's Bridal in Fond du Lac until she retired. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She truly enjoyed spending time with friends and her family, especially her grandchildren and the joy of meeting her first great-granddaughter, Riley. She is survived by her five children, Rick Olig, Deb (Terry) Severson, Tim (Barb) Olig, Doug (Lisa) Olig, and Todd (Chris) Olig; 12 grandchildren, Alexis Olig, Chris (Emily) Boettcher, Aaron Boettcher, Kevin Boettcher, Brett Boettcher (Fiance', McKenna), Mike (Shay) Olig, Kate Olig (fiance', Tyler), Bryan Olig, Madeline Olig, Tyler Olig (special friend, Taylor), Analiese Olig, and Lauren Olig; her great-granddaughter, Riley Boettcher; her sisters and brother, Connie (Tony) Mayer, Roger (Barb) Miller, and Pat Abitz; and her special friend, Joan Schultz. She is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents and three sisters, Gail Kriewaldt, Dianne Miller, and Myrna Miller. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street, St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Gary Wegner, OFM Cap will officiate. Visitation: Family and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday, October 27th from 11:00 AM until 1:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Mary's family would like to express their heart-felt appreciation to the staff and volunteers at the Hospice Home of Hope for the wonderful care and compassion given to their mom.
