Obituary

Mary Ann (Tyson) Buechel, age 77, of Kiel, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at her home following a yearlong battle with cancer.

She was born November 11, 1947, in rural Chilton, to the late Jeffery & Mary Jane (Hephner) Tyson. Mary Ann attended schools in Chilton and Hilbert.

Mary Ann worked at Foley Aluminum in Chilton, Tecumseh Engine Products, as well as the former Northland Turkey Farms.

Mary Ann was a devoted partner, a loving stepmom, sister, aunt, and a friend to many. She found joy in the sounds of old-time country music, 50's & 60's music, and Polka music, especially when listening to her favorite band, Too Cool Whenever live music was playing in the area, you could be sure you would find Mary Ann along with her partner Ken, enjoying the moment, with a cold Busch Lite in hand. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her special friend, Ken Dreifuerst of Kiel; her two stepchildren, Lori Buchanon of Indianola, Iowa and her children and grandchildren; Larry (Kristi) Buechel of Neenah; daughter-in-law Sherry Buechel and her children; her brothers & sisters, William "Billy" (Joyce) Tyson of Chilton, Betty (Cal) Dahl of Plymouth, Honey Lou Barnett of Chilton, Delilah Mahloch of Manitowoc, Barbara Moore of Cabot, Arkansas, and Corey Bowe. She is further survived by a sisters-in-law, Pauline Tyson of St. Nazianz and Missy Tyson; numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends and special Cousin Barbara Heinen.

Preceding her in death were her father, Jeffrey Tyson; mother, Mary Jane Bowe; stepfather Willard Bowe; a stepson, Lee Buechel; brothers, Raymond Tyson, Willard Tyson, infant brother Kenneth Bowe, and James Bowe; and sisters, Bonnie Mahloch and Janey Nenahlo; brothers-in-law: James Nenahlo and Joe Mahloch; sister-in-law: Gloria Tyson; and nieces Dana Escher, Jody Nenahlo, and nephew Sonny Tyson.

Per Mary Ann's wishes, cremation will take place. No services will be held. Memorials can be sent to 1222 Kristel Heights Street, Kiel, WI 53042.

A Celebration of Mary Ann's Life will be held July 26, 2025 at The Neighborhood Pub and Grill (Formerly Brant Inn) at N5091 Co Hwy BB, Chilton WI from 12:30 to 4:30. We all know how much Mary Ann liked her music therefore we will have live music performing by Too Cool from 1pm-4pm playing all her favorite songs. Feel free to bring a small dessert to pass.
