Michael Lee
Bittner
Mar 8, 1951 — Jul 4, 2024
Michael Lee Bittner, age 73, of Newton, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 4, 2024.
He was born March 8, 1951, in Plymouth to Francis & Elaine (Grimes) Bittner. Michael graduated from Plymouth High School in 1969.
Michael was a farmer his whole life. He loved raising dairy cattle. The last years of his working life, he worked at A H Stock Manufacturing in Newton. He also proudly served as a volunteer fireman for the Newton Fire Department for several years.
Michael had a love for music. He recorded music in Nashville and some of his songs are copyrighted, that made him very proud. His love of music followed on through his children and grandchildren. Some of his happiest moments were going to Bob Dylan and many other musicians' concerts with his kids and close friends. He enjoyed cutting lawn and spending time at his cabin on his property with his dogs at his side. Michael always had stories, jokes, and advice ready for anyone. Some of the best advice he had for his children when times got tough, he told them to make a decision and don't think twice, it's all right.
Survivors include his son, Francis (Karen) Bittner of Sheboygan and Jolene (Philip) Meisnest of Manitowoc; four grandchildren, Dillon Meisnest, Natalie Meisnest, Maxwell Bittner, and Evelyn Bittner; two sisters, Mary (Gary) Kerofsky and Nancy Bittner; the mother of his two children, Denise (Schowerer) Bittner of Cleveland, WI. He is further survived by nieces; a nephew; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Francis & Elaine Bittner; and two sisters, Judy Bittner and Barbara Bittner.
Cremation will take place. A private gathering will occur at a later time.
The family asks for privacy during this time. Michael's time and effort put into his property will remain in the family.
