Myron “Mike” C. Seefeld, age 91, of Reedsville, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
Mike was born on July 19, 1927 in the town of Berlin, Marathon County, son of the late Robert and Pauline (Hoeft) Seefeld. He served our country in the United States Naval Reserve 1945-1955, and active duty from 1945-1946. Myron worked as a telephone lineman and cable splicer in Milwaukee. He married Ruth Schroeder in 1954 in Milwaukee. The couple then moved to the Cato and Reedsville area in 1961. Mike and Ruth owned and operated a small service station and dealership in Cato for several years. After this, he worked at Tecumseh product Co as an engines tester and repairman until his retirement in 1989. Mike enjoyed mechanics, especially working on his truck. He was an avid gardener until life slowed him down earlier this year.
Mike is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth of Reedsville; their son and daughter-in-law: Paul and Susan Seefeld of Santa Cruz, CA; granddaughter: Nicole (David) Baxter of Roseburg, OR; great-grandchildren: Kade, Ryder, and Mason Baxter; one step-grandson: Jeffrey Rightnar; one step-great-grandson: Aiden; one sister and brother-in-law: Helen and Clarence Marschall, one sister-in-law: Mildred Seefeld;
He is preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Augusta (Lenz) Schroeder; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Alma and Ray Uteck, Adeline and Lester Uteck, Margaret and Willard Meydem, and two brothers and one sister-in-law: William and Robert (Corleen) Seefeld; and other in-laws.
Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Officiating will be the Rev. Darin Aden. Military Rites will be accorded by the Reedsville AmVets Post 1032. Burial will be at a later date in Knollwood Memorials Gardens, town of Kossuth.
Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
