Obituary

Ophelia "Philly" I. Schaefer, age 69, of Malone, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary. She was born March 30, 1944 in Port Washington to the late William & Adelaide (Buch) Buch. Philly graduated from Cedarburg High School. On January 1, 2008, she married Richard "Dick" Schaefer at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the Town of Forest. She had been employed at the Gourmet Delight Mushroom Farm near Dotyville. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mt. Calvary, the Peter Wollner Post 288 Auxiliary in Cedarburg, Wisconsin State Historical Society, Ozaukee County Historical Society, and the Malone Area Heritage Museum. Philly is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Schaefer of Malone; her children, Henry (Julie) Meinert of Malone, David (Jacki) Meinert of rural St. Cloud, Susan (David) Weber of New Holstein "Marytown", and Tammy Meinert of Sun Prairie; her daughter-in-law, Jeri (Meinert) (Tim)Roberts of Galena, KS; her grandchildren, Amber Meinert, Brooke Meinert, Carly Meinert of St. Cloud, Shelby Meinert of Galena, KS, Justin Weber, Avery Weber, and Lauren Weber of "Marytown", and Delaney Meinert and William Meinert of Malone; her sisters, Emeline (Tom) Johnson of Cedarburg and Nathalie (Harold) Schmidt of West Bend; and her brother-in-law, Robert (Chris) Schaefer of Malone. Preceding Philly in death were her parents; and a son, Sgt. Louis Meinert. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church W2090 State Hwy 23 Mt. Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Mark Barenz will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Grafton. Family and friends may call at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 7th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and again at the church Thursday morning from 9:30 – 10:45 AM.
